A Random Act of Kindness

Community, goodwill, and unapologetically showing kindness.
For Random Acts of Kindness week, my roommate wanted to celebrate by gifting students sunflowers and mini pumpkins. On Tuesday of that week, I helped her place three buckets of pumpkins and one bucket of sunflowers out by the student center with a sign encouraging peers to take one. Within minutes, all were taken. And for just her simple act, she received compliments all week for brightening others' days.

The Brother who Showed Up

Brotherhood bonds, family, and supporting each other.
My brother and I are 4 years apart, so in my senior year of college, he was in his senior year of high school. The main sport he played was water polo and his senior night was on a Wednesday. Even though I went to college out of state, I wanted to show up and support my brother. So, I took an early morning flight out and spent 24 hours in my hometown—just to support him for his senior night.
